Kolli Hills is an easy drive from Salem, Namakkal and Trichy. Here is the way up, and what to keep in mind on the climb.
Getting here
Reaching RK Garden and Resort
Kolli Hills is reached by road from every major city in Tamil Nadu. The last stretch is the famous run of 70 continuous hairpin bends, which is as much a part of the trip as the destination.
By road from Salem
Take the Salem–Namakkal highway (NH 44), turn left at Kalappanaickenpatti and head towards Karavalli to begin the hill climb.

By road from Trichy
Take the Trichy–Namakkal road to Namakkal town, then continue to Karavalli via Sendamangalam and start the ascent.
About 130 km · 3 hours 30 minutes
Nearest railway station
Namakkal (NMKL) is the closest station. Taxis and buses to Kolli Hills are available from outside the station.
Taxi or bus for the final leg
By bus
State buses run up the hills from Namakkal through the day. They stop at Semmedu, a short ride from the resort.

- Drive slowly through the 70 hairpin bends and sound the horn before blind curves.
- Check your brakes and tyres before starting the ascent.
- Mist is common early morning and after dusk — use fog lamps.
- Do not overtake on the ghat road, and give way to descending vehicles.
